Kumu Ko by Belle & Zoe logoKumu Ko by Belle & Zoe

Luxury stationery for eco-conscious resorts, destination weddings, and hospitality leaders in Hawaiʻi.

Handmade, 100% biodegradable paper goods crafted from invasive plant fibers like albizia. Celebrate aloha ʻāina, elevate guest experiences, and advance your ESG goals with every card, journal, and pop-up piece.

The problem

“Beauty shouldn’t have to cost the planet.”

Guests remember the details — the welcome card on the pillow, the thank-you note, the gift-bag tag. Too often those pieces are wrapped in plastic, printed far from the islands, and say nothing about the place or the values behind it.

You want stationery that honors Hawaiʻi, supports your ESG story, and feels as considered as the rest of the guest experience. The options just aren't there yet.

How it works

  1. You share the event or program

Wedding welcome, resort check-in, corporate retreat, guest gift. We start from the experience you want to create.

  2. We pull the fiber

Invasive trees like albizia are cut and processed into pulp instead of being burned, chipped, or left to fall.

  3. We make the paper by hand

Thick, textured sheets made in small batches. No plastic coating, no synthetic glue, no off-island finishing.

  4. You choose the piece

Greeting cards, handcrafted pop-up cards, journals, or custom sets — sized, branded, and timed for your hospitality moment.

  5. It supports your ESG story

Every sheet is 100% biodegradable and locally sourced. A tangible detail your guests, clients, and sustainability reports can point to.

Where we are

Kumu Ko is in development, designed for eco-conscious resorts, destination wedding planners, and hospitality leaders who want luxury stationery that also means something.

We are Belle and Zoe, two people making paper from albizia and other invasive plants in Hawaiʻi. We are testing the fiber, the finishes, and the formats with the people who would actually use them — welcome suites, guest gifts, branded journals, and event keepsakes.

There are no inflated customer counts, borrowed logos, or awards yet. When there are, they will be real. What we can show you now is the paper itself. Ask and we will send a sample sheet.

Fair questions

I have never heard of you.

Fair. We are new, and nothing here is fully launched yet. Joining the list costs nothing and commits you to nothing. You will see the first resort and wedding collections before anyone else, and you can decide with a sample in hand.

Will this work for our brand standards and event timeline?

Handmade paper is thicker and less uniform than machine stock, so every sheet is unique. For resort and wedding orders we confirm quantity, size, branding, and timeline in writing, and we will tell you straight if a date is too tight.

How does this help our ESG goals?

Every piece is made from responsibly sourced invasive plant fiber in Hawaiʻi, uses no plastic coating or synthetic glue, and is fully biodegradable. We can share sourcing notes and material details for your sustainability reporting.
